We got this message from Listowel Tidy Towns the other day and I thought it deserved to be put on the front page.

Listowel Tidy Towns request your help in photographing landmark trees in Listowel and its vicinity.

The tree, or group of trees can be big, beautiful, important, mysterious, sacred, historical, fabulous, quirky-looking or ancient. All sorts of trees will qualify for inclusion and in particular we are looking for trees with a story for example: rag trees; trees at holy wells, military trees; those of exceptional girth, height or age; any associated with historical events, people or structures; those which are important to our community.

Your favourite images can be mailed to tidytownstrees@gmail.com. The images will be displayed at Listowel Town Library. Closing date for entries is Thursday 31st May.

Please join in making this this years project a real success.

Print and Projected Image competition

This years Print and Projected Image competition will be held in Kilcoran Lodge Hotel Chair Co.Tipperary on November 20th.

There are changes to the competition format and rules this year as well as the usual 3 open category’s ( Colour Print, Mono Print and Projected image)
with a maximum of 3 images per category there are three themed category’s with a maximum of 2 images per category.

North Kerry and District Photographic Society are proud to welcome you to our new website, which we will be making a hub of photographic knowledge.

We have a wide range of workshops and classes planned, which you can see in our Calendar page. From these you can learn about techniques in the field, in the studio and on the computer.

We also run monthly competitions which are a great way to start improving (or showing off!) your skills.

Lastly we have our forums, where you can post your questions, show off your work, or just browse and observe.
